HPM 5 Axis Tilt Fixture
The State of the Art in Cylinder Head Machining
Improved CNC Rotary Table
We are presently building the fifth generation fixture which utilizes the Nikken CNC Rotary table. This superior CNC Rotary is used on many automotive transfer line applications by the Big Three Auto Manufacturers. The wear factor associated with the bronze gearing in all other rotary tables has been replaced with with a heat treated, precision ground and ion nitrated steel worm driven gear. The worm driving gear is manufactured from V grade carbide. This combination provides high anti-wear qualities while maintaining higher accuracy.
Greater Tilt Angle For Better Access
Our fixture offers the most B axis tilt which results in better accessibility behind the push rod wall on small block Chevrolet cylinder heads. The motion range of B is 32 degrees in both directions. This valuable feature affords more control when digitizing and while performing subsequent machining operations.
Better Value With Increase Performance
Your CAD/CAM designed fixture will be made from lightweight mil spec alloys with uncompromising strength and quality. This translates to years of useful service as the B axis has no unnecessary weight to transfer through stringent rotational motions. The less weight B axis has to move increases the life of the CNC rotary table.
We machine the fixture components using CNC machines to insure accuracy which allows you to have a second machine running the same programs as your first. If for some reason you should have to disassemble your fixture, it will re-assemble back to the same position. This eliminates any fixture re-qualification for post processor configuration which, most importantly means, you will not have to replace your existing programs all over again. If any pivot point dimension on the fixture changes all existing programs will have to be made over. Just realize that 5 different axis motions are being executed from a single position (machine/fixture zero) and changing any stack up dimension will render your programs useless.
